Innovation Lab - Thinking works

Competence centers for fundamental questions

The development of organic electronics is still in its early stages, so there are still many fundamental questions to be answered. The excellence cluster's research strategy aims to overcome the existing technological hurdles by establishing five competence centers in the areas of printing, device physics, analytics, simulation and synthesis. The competence centers are based at InnovationLab.

Research results contribute to
joint projects

The cooperation of the competence centers with the cluster partners' joint projects, funded by the excellence cluster competition, is paving the way for the development of new technology, targeted at the market needs. The results of the basic research contribute to the work of the partners and allow project goals to be achieved and marketable products and applications to be developed.

Cooperation along the
value chain

The joint projects of the cluster partners in the areas of organic circuits and chips, organic light diodes, organic photovoltaics and organic sensor applications are worked on holistically along the entire value chain. To do this, the partners each contribute their specific skills and network these with the others.
