Industrial Production of Printed Sensors

The Third and Last Phase of Our LAB 2 FAB Concept.

The collaboration with Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, world market leader in the manufacturing of printing presses, enables the unprecedented mass production of inexpensive printed and organic sensors. The additive manufacturing process in connection with our worldwide unique partnership enables for the first time the development and production of customized sensors on an industrial scale and at low costs. You profit from a rapid and smooth transition from design and feasibility studies through market launch to serial production.

Once you reach this point, you can choose between two production locations: Heidelberg, operated by InnovationLab, and Wiesloch-Walldorf, operated by Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG. Both production sites are equipped with a roll-to-roll printing machine. All processes included are ISO 9001-certified and are located in cleanrooms, which is crucial for the quality and reliability of the printing process.

InnovationLab has a highly modified printing press of the type Gallus RCS 3030 that supports prototyping and pilot production of up to one million (finger-sized) sensors per day.

Together with Heidelberg Printing Machines, InnovationLab is able to provide the mass production of your product.

Roll-to-Roll Printing Press Gallus RCS 430 for Industrial Production

At the production site of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG in Wiesloch-Walldorf a further advanced printing press is used, the first of its kind to be used exclusively for the industrial production of printed sensors and can be operated in a three-shift production system - any quantity can be produced quickly and reliably. The applied processes comply with the IATF 16949 requirements for quality management systems in the automotive industry.

With InnovationLab our customers are able to print their product at large scale.
