Our colleagues from Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) have successfully taken a new and decisive progress in development - printed light sensors for application in optical communication. These sensors are particularly suitable for mobile devices, can be printed in large quantities and can be manufactured in any design on light and flexible materials.


Save the Bees: How Printed Electronics supports the Rescue of Bees


The internal SAP project "Save the Bees" counteracts bee mortality with the support of InnovationLab. With printed sensors, the activities of individual beehives are recorded and made available via a mobile app. Automatic alerts inform beekeepers directly about any deviations.
