Daniel Jänsch was born and grew up in the shade of the ostentatious cathedral in Limburg a.d. Lahn.

Driven by his curiousity and broad scientific interests he studied Biomedical Chemistry at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, where he received his diploma degree in chemistry in 2012. Afterwards joined the group of Prof. Dr. Klaus Müllen at the Max-Planck Institute for Polymer Research for his Ph.D. studies on the synthesis of novel rylene-based chromophors and ultranarrow graphene nanoribbons.

Since 2016 he is a group leader of the competence center synthesis at the InnovationLab in Heidelberg. His research interests are dyestuff chemistry, graphene nanoribbons, conjugated polymers and functional materials for (printed) organic electronics and (printed) sensors.
