Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (LTI)

Das Kompetenzzentrum „Device Physics“ wird von der Forschungsgruppe „Gedruckte Elektronik“ des Lichttechnischen Instituts (LTI) vom Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) unter der Leitung von Prof. Uli Lemmer und Dr. Gerardo Hernandez-Sosa geführt.

Die Forschungsgruppe „Gedruckte Elektronik“ des LTI untersucht neuartige Materialien und komplexe Bauteilarchitekturen zur Herstellung optoelektronischer Systeme mittels industrierelevanter Drucktechnologien. Gegenstand aktueller Forschungsthemen sind hierbei lichtemittierende Bauteile (LED), Solarzellen und Photodioden. Ein zentraler Teil der Forschungsaktivitäten ist dabei die Entwicklung von entsprechenden Tintenformulierungen und Druckverfahren zur Steigerung der Leistungsfähigkeit gedruckter Bauteile. Zudem wird die Integration gedruckter organisch-elektronischer Bauteile in komplexe Systeme untersucht. Darüber hinaus befasst sich die vom BMBF geförderte Nachwuchsgruppe von Dr. Hernandez-Sosa mit der Verwendung von biologisch abbaubaren und biokompatiblen Materialien zur Herstellung von optoelektronischen Bauelementen. Das Grundprinzip ist dabei stets die Kombination modernster Drucktechniken mit dem Thema nachhaltigere und umweltfreundlichere Materialien, zur Herstellung kostengünstiger und „grüner“ elektrischer Bauteile.
